What if we told you that you don’t have to count calories forever?

Now don’t get me wrong, we all know that counting calories is a sure-fire way to ensure progress towards your goals, however...

If you have ever counted your calories, whether vaguely or to every gram, you’ll know it can be a tedious task, especially when out with friends or when you aren’t preparing your own food.

But…

What if we told you that you don’t have to?

Great news, right?!

This is where your very own intuition can be of great use!

If counting your calories doesn’t sound like a bit of you, why don’t you try to commit to counting your calories for just TWO weeks, that’s it, two weeks and you may never have to count calories ever again!

The idea behind this is that after two weeks of varied meals that you have calorie counted, you will be able to intuitively control portion sizes from those two weeks going forward!

Take an example from when we are kids, none of us are born with the ability to write straight, so we introduce tracing paper, we use that for a little while and then once it’s taken away, we can write straighter.

Food for thought, literally!

I began my journey within the health and fitness industry back in 2012, over that time I have trained hundreds of individuals from every walk of life, from people who are wanting to get into the best shape of their life, to sport specific performance and injury rehabilitation.

But, over my 10-year career, what is the biggest mistake I have ever made?

It is without a doubt not going self-employed earlier!

Going self-employed allowed me to have the freedom to incorporate my own principles into a brand with like-minded coaches, the result – GymGeek.

Fast forward almost 2 years and we have developed GymGeek into the leading sports science team locally and not only that we have also designed and completed the project of building our very own state-of- the art purpose-built facility to generate the most amount of progress for our members and clients possible!

And all of this was made possible by firstly taking the plunge into self-employment and then amidst a pandemic we made the Gym Geek brand into its own company, to create what you see today, and the best part… We’re only just getting started.

Our Inaugural news letter. Its been a long 5 months since we decided to take the plunge and open our own facility. So we wanted to update everyone on exactly what we've been up to and what we've got planned for the new year.

Equipment and the Gym Floor

We have invested heavily in to our equipment. We have built the space specifically to cater for our group training programs, sports teams strength & conditioning sessions and our one 2 one clients, as well as building Treatment rooms so we can offer sports massage and injury rehab provisions. In Total we have 10 Squat Racks here at Club GG, a dual lane 20m sled/running track, a dedicated dumbbell/free weights area and multi purpose private training room equipped with its own squat rack so those who want to train in complete privacy can. We will also be opening up the gym during the day, early mornings and late evenings so that members can come in and use it at their own leisure when they wish.

Treatment Lab

Injury assessment and diagnosis If you have an injury that is affecting your training or day to day life, maybe now is the time to get it assessed, treated and be provided with a plan to improve/prevent.

Rehabilitation

A private area to recover from injury with a rehabilitation expert.

Sports Massage

The benefits are universally understood and respected, how often depends on your level of training. We call it the M.O.T, you call it an hour of torture.

Plans for the new year

Now the building phase of the arena is complete, we will work tirelessly in the new year to focus all of our attention on the clientele and provide a place to train that is levels above anything else you can/have ever experienced.

We will invest lots more into equipment and we hope to officially launch our performance Lab this year too.

Happy New year
